row your boat

row row row your boat~ #

row row row your boat~
row, row, row your boat,
and drift into the tide~
for i’m a storm without a calm,
a path no stars would guide~

row, row, row your boat,
don’t let your gaze retreat~
for if you turn, you’ll see me there,
a shadow at your feet~

row, row, row your boat,
escape the weight i bear~
a body soft, a heart too loud,
a burden none could share~

row, row, row your boat,
don’t listen for my poem~
it’s woven from the echoes sharp,
of where i don’t belong~

row, row, row your boat,
i beg you, sail away~
for laughter never warmed my skin,
it only burned to stay~

row, row, row your boat,
don’t look into the deep~
the bruises there are stitched with names
that haunt me as i sleep~

row, row, row your boat,
and leave these ruins be~
the shattered dreams, the silent screams,
the weight of being me~

row, row, row your boat,
don’t pause to understand~
this tide i bring would pull you down,
away from solid land.~

row, row, row your boat,
the current’s kinder there~
i’ve nothing but a hollow shell,
a shadow filled with air~

row, row, row your boat,
let mercy guide your hand~
don’t anchor here, don’t reach for me,
i’m just a grain of sand~
